Assumption's ladies and Bowling Green's Madisyn Peeples saw their season come to an end on Saturday at Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon. Assumption,the Kentucky State Champions in Class AAA as well as winner of Nike Cross Southeast for the 2nd Year in a row finished 16th overall with 376 points. The team was led by senior Bailey Davis in 85th place with an 18:54. Fellow senior Emily Bean was right behind her with an 18:57.20 in 91st place. The ladies of Assumption placed 10th last year and 18th in 2011. This three year run marks the most success for any girls team in Kentucky history. They return Abbie Wright and Sarah Crawford from the Nike bound team for next year as well as a well stocked JV team.
BG Frosh Madisyn Peeples was the top overall KY runner in 66th Place with an 18:40.9. The Class AAA Runner-Up was the 4th overall freshman at Nike Cross Nationals. She cruised to a new PR time of 17:48 to finish 4th at Nike Cross Southeast last week. She is part of a impressive Kentucky Freshman class that could potentially challenge this year's seniors as the best distance group in Kentucky history.
