Saucony Elite 50 Team Boys | Week 7

Mt. SAC and the first crazy wave of State Championships across the nation made for quite the busy weekend for XC!  And what a weekend it was!

At Mt. SAC on Friday and Saturday there were some fireworks among the teams in California.  #3 Arcadia (CA) won the Team Sweepstakes race with a 15:23 average despite Estevan De La Rosa finishing further back in the pack then his typical high finish.  #25 Warren (CA) finished 2nd overall in the race with a quick 15:30 average.  However, the biggest performance of the day was that of #8 Brea Olinda (CA) who won the final race of the day on Friday evening with a strong 15:20 average.  They were also #1 in the team merge of all races.

#4 York (IL) won their regional with a stunning performance of 20 points off of a 15:08 average and an 18 second spread.  They swept the first 4 spots overall as well.  #7 Fayetteville-Manlius (NY) dominated their league meet, winning with 15 points and a sweep of the top-6 places.  They averaged 15:24 off of a 13 second spread.

Also racing well in District action this week were the PA squads of #9 North Allegheny, #15 West Chester Henderson and #21 Cardinal O'Hara.  They will all be in the same race this Saturday in a Clash of the Titans that invariably turns into a nail-biter in the final 800 meters of the race.  Don't miss our live tweets of this one!

Some other exciting regional action occurred with #6 Brentwood (TN), #11 Carmel (IN), #13 St. Xavier (OH) and #23 St. Xavier (KY) also racing very well this week.

As the season rolls along we will surely see other teams rise up in a bid to become one of the nation's best.

Stay tuned each week as we bring you the Saucony Elite 50 Team Boys every Thursday morning!
