Karene King Posts 200m Season’s Best in New Mexico

Karene King powers out the blocks

FEBRUARY 10—National Indoor 200m record holder Karene King ran a 200m season’s best in her second race of the season on Friday night at the Don Kirby  Indoor Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

King finished second in her heat in 23.94 seconds to place fourth overall. She also had a 60m time of 7.49 after running 7.53 in the heats.

Stoute, Wattley set for MEAC Championships

Bethune Cookman Jr. Keron Stoute, coming off competing in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York, will join Morgan State Sr. Britney Wattley at the 2013 MEAC Indoor Conference Championships in Landover, Maryland. Stoute ended in a three-way tie for fifth in the High Jump with a leap of 2.04m (6’8¼”). His 2.05m (6’8¾”) leap is fourth in conference.

Dominique Maloney tunes of for Big Sky

Portland State Sr. Dominique Maloney, coming off her second best 400m time of 56.59 seconds in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational and a 25.17 seconds in the 200m, ran 25.18 at the Washington Huskies Invitational, in Seattle, Washington on Friday night, but was later disqualified.

Maloney, who ranks on top of the conference 400m pile with her 55.72 time, will compete in the Feb 22-23 Big Sky Conference Championships in Bozeman, Montana.

Malone back in the sand

A year away from the Long Jump, Chantel Malone returned to the sandpit on Friday night and finished second in the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas, with a leap of 6.30m (20’8”).
