End of Fleet's ACU career marks beginning of new journey May 29, 2011

TURLOCK, Calif. – Tyler Fleet's final throw in the discus competition Saturday at the NCAA Division II track and field championship meet marked the end of his competitive athletic career. It also signaled the beginning of a new adventure that will, literally, take him across the globe.

Carnett National 800m Champion Douglas McDaniel May 28, 2011

File photo courtesy of Concord University   Turlock, CA. -- Shawnee Carnett, a sophomore, from Concord University just won the 800m at the NCAA Division II National Outdoor Track and Field Championship. It was fun watching her go from the back of the pack and make her move with about 200m to go and she finally took the lead and blew the field away in the last 100m to win in 2:14.53 . It was her type of race. The pace was slow, so she was able to out kick the competition like she normally does.   Shawnee is now a 3 time All-American and the first National champion in track and field for Concord University.   Congrats to Shawnee.  

Wildcats claim another title May 28, 2011

TURLOCK, Calif. – For the better part of four years, the ACU Wildcats have leaned on a core group of veterans to lead their team and win championships. And just as they did in March at the NCAA Division II indoor national championship meet in Albuquerque, N.M., the Wildcats' "Fab Four" delivered again Saturday at the outdoor championship meet, scoring 60 points between them – including 37 on the final day to deliver yet another team national championship in the long and illustrious history of ACU track and field.

Jones' PR leads to second place May 27, 2011

TURLOCK, Calif. – It was six short weeks ago that Nick Jones woke up one morning and decided to make wholesale changes to his throwing style in the shot put ring. Friday night at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium, the decision paid off with a second-place finish and personal best mark in the shot put at the NCAA Division II outdoor track and field championships for ACU's junior all-America thrower.
