In an effort to honor the top track and field performers from Kentucky, KYtrackXC.com will have a weekly set of Athletes of the Week.  There will be Middle School, High School, and College awardees.  Former Kentucky High School Track and Field athletes currently running in college are eligible for the College award, even if he or she attends a school out-of-state.

UK: Matt Sonnenfeldt Interview (TN) Feb 23, 2009

Matt Sonnenfeldt finished second in the Two Mile Run at the UK High School Invitational with a 9:15.56. He has signed to run at UK next year.

Ben Mason ran a 21.90 at the UK High School Invitational. He talks about his race and winning the 200/400 at the Wildcat Classic.

Weekend Wrap Up: Feb. 21-22 Feb 22, 2009

With one month to go until the OATCCC Indoor State meet, many student athletes put up some great times and marks.  A total of 30 new Ohio #1 marks were set this weekend, with 25 of those marks being OATCCC Indoor State Meet events.

A big meet of stars is brewing in the Bluegrass State Feb 19, 2009

Last year at the UK High School Indoor Invitational, the likes of Christian Taylor, Jacquelyn Coward, Brittany Long, William Wynne, Erik Kynard, Jasmin Stowers, Chalonda Goodman, Madeline Morgan, Patrick McGregor, Meshawn Graham, Marcus Rowland, Kenneth Gilstrap, Andrew Perkins, Michael Shaw, and Sean Keveran all made memories. Several of those athletes (Stowers, Goodman, Gilstrap, Morgan, and McGregor) will have another shot to make their mark at one of the strongest indoor meets of the year, while others, including, current US #1 60m hurdler, Wayne Davis II (Southeast Raleigh, GA) and Millrose Miler Cory McGee (Pass Christian, MS), will look to leave their own mark on the 280-meter oval in Lexington, Kentucky.
