Last year, Daniel Estrada won the 100m dash earning himself a trip to the Brooks PR Meet at the end of the year.  His 10.61 edged out Shaun Shivers 10.76 for the 100m title. American Heritage Senior McKinly Brown Set To Tackle Hurdle Fields At Flo Golden South May 27, 2016

The most exciting non Brooks PR qualifying race could be the boys 110m hurdles. We profile American Heritage senior McKinly Brown who owns the most state titles in the field, but might just be the most overshadowed. Brown will also compete in his favorite event the 400m hurdles and has more experience than his competition with the 4th fastest time in the country to his credit.

Haines City junior Amuru Patterson opened up eyes all season when she ran 11.57w at the Pre-State and followed that up with wind legal times of 11.63 and 11.64 at district and regionals and 23.85 in the 200 at the same regional meet. Patterson went onto win her first two state titles, capturing gold in the 100 and 200m dash for class 4A.
