SUBJECT: 2015 Conference 21 West Cross-Country Championships
DATE & LOCATION: Wednesday, October 28, 2015 @ Woodgrove High School
TIMES: Girls Varsity Race 3:30 p.m.
Boys Varsity Race 4:15 p.m.
COACHES MEETING: 3:00 p.m. under the tent: MANDATORY. No dressing room provided for athletes.
TIMING: Runners will be assigned bibs which will be handed out in the Coaches Packets. Safety pins will be provided. Runners will be hand timed with a Sprint 8 and backed up with our Seiko timers. Results will be emailed by the next morning, and posted on Milestat.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A 5K course run on the grounds of Woodgrove. The course is relatively flat with mostly gentle turns, open fields, and in spots borders woods and a wet weather creek. Runners can expect a couple short drops and narrow trail sections. It is a spectator friendly course that requires very little walking to view runners in several locations. A long straightaway near the end has helped to create some exciting finishes. Course opens at 2:00.
AWARDS: Awards will be presented at approx. 5:00 p.m. A Championship Trophy for the winning girls and boys teams, plus medals to the top 15 individuals will be awarded.

ENTRIES: Entries will be sent directly to me using the VHSL Conference entry form. Entries are to be sent to me via e-mail no later than Sunday, October 25, at 8:00 pm. You do not register on Milestat for this meet,
REGION MEET: The Top 3 teams and the first 15 finishers (not counting runners from the teams already advancing?) in the Conference meet qualify for the Region 4A West Meet.
Region 4A West information, from Meet Director Ron Proffitt of Bassett High School, has been sent out as well as posted on Milestat. The Region meet will be held at the Smith River Sports Complex in Axton, Va. on November 5, 2015.
Conference 21 West Welcome
Welcome to the inaugural Conference 21 West Cross Country Meet! We are looking forward to a terrific meet on Woodgroves beautiful and spectator friendly cross country course.
In order to provide a safe and efficient meet we would like to remind coaches of a few important tips:
1. Please bring water for your team, keeping in mind the weather forecast. While we will do our best to provide sufficient water we would rather have everyone prepared for the conditions.
2. In case of extreme weather we may postpone the meet per Region 4A West and VHSL policy.
3. ParkingPlease have your buses park and unload in the gravel lot at Winning Way and walk your athletes across campus to our course. Signs will point you to EVENT PARKING as you enter our campus.
4. Please remind your parents NOT TO PARK in our bus loop, but also in the gravel lot, or in the lot in front of our school. Handicapped parking will be identified and available at the request of the driver to our gate workers.
5. Please remove all trash prior to leaving the grounds. Trash bags will be provided.
6. The course map is attached with this mailing.
ADMISSION: Cost of admission will be $6.00. Passes will be honored for the bearer only.
T-SHIRTS: T-shirts and hoodies will be printed and sold on site.
CONCESSIONS: Will be available on the grounds near our starting line.
