Sign Up for MileSplit API
The MileSplit API will allow your application or web site to interact with ours. We believe the
richness of our users' experience with MileSplit can be enriched by your creativity. So we have
decided to open the API to allow other developers to extend the use of our database.
We do, however, require that developers seeking to utilize our API agree to the terms
of use:
-
We do not have a specific limit on the amount of API calls per day that your application can make; however,
if you believe that your application may make more than 10,000 calls in a day please email us
to let us know.
-
You cannot charge others to access any page that utilizes the MileSplit API.
-
On every page that utilizes the API you must clearly identify it with this logo
and link it to
http://www.milesplit.com. Email us if this will not work
for your application and we will come up with a satisfactory alternative.
-
You may not store any data that you retreive from our database, except for the following: temporary cache, id numbers or id strings,
and names associated with those ids. Example #1: You could store the user name associated with a certain account. You would not be
allowed to store any information about that user that was retrieved from our database. Example #2: You could store the id number and
name of a meet as retreived from our database. You cannot store the details or meet results from that meet. Email us if this will not work
for your application and we will come up with a satisfactory alternative.
-
You may not develop a product that is directly competitive to MileSplit. You should not create a product that reproduces the
same features we already have on MileSplit. The API is so that developers can innovate and user our data in new and unique ways.
-
You may not use the API to attempt to hack our site, spam our users, create phishing schemes for user data, alter or add to our
database with invalid entries, conduct a denial of service attack, or any of the other really obvious malicious things that really
shouldn't need to be said but must be because there are jerks out there!
-
We make no promises as far as uptime. Our servers or the API specifically may occassionally go down or be taken down for updates or maintenance.
-
We may update our API or developer policies at any time. We will email registered developers of any major changes. Any changes that will break
backwards compatability, we will give you at least 30 days notice.
-
We reserve the right to discontinue the service at any point. We will provide at least 30 days notice if we plan to do so.
-
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your use at any time for any reason at our sole discretion without notice. In using this API
you agree to this this stipulation and assume this risk. We don't want to do this, but need to reserve this right to maintain the quality of our
partners, protect the rights and experience of our users, and to maintain our competitive advantage.
