El Paso Eastwood boys varsity after their first race of the season

The season is underway and there have already been some teams showing off their depth this season. We're talking about JV guys, those underclassmen who are already trying to make a push to be on their varsity squads.

In the three-mile team scores, it's no surprise that the powerhouse programs in the states that primarily run three-miles are dominating. Claremont High School in California has the top team scores out of all boys teams nationally. Just behind them is also a California and national powerhouse program in Great Oak. The two teams are only separated by a single point. California is strong in three miles but Utah is also well-represented. Teams like Davis and American Fork are in the top 10.

In the 5K team scores, we see a heavy Texas contingent led by El Paso Eastwood and Southlake Carroll High Schools. We also can't forget about the guys from Loudoun Valley who proved last weekend at the PTXC Invitational that they have amazing depth as well, not just a strong varsity squad.
