With the cross country season fast approaching, we're going to take a look at the nation's top up-and-comers moving into the ninth grade for the 2018 season. 

Leading the way from a year ago is Lexington (SC) High School incoming freshman Zander Jeffcoat, who posted a best of 16:11.00 at the Mike Moore Lake Murray Invitational last September. Jeffcoat ultimately went on to finish ninth at South Carolina's mid-state race and 25th at the Class AAAAA championships.
