We used our database to see where this year's freshman class stacks up against the other freshman classes of years past.
The freshman with the top time in the 800m right now is Mater Academy Charter's (FL) Jinah Mickens-Malik. She ran 2:09.40 to win the Pepsi Florida Relays back in March and was undefeated all year in the 800m, including an FHSAA Outdoor State title. There are 11 athletes in the class of 2021on the top 100 freshman all-time list. They have all run 2:12.55 or faster.
In the 400m, Buford High School's (GA) Trinity Priceholds the nation-leading freshman time of 53.95.
But Dynasty Mcclennon of Track Houston Youth Track Club isn't far off of Price's time, as she has run 53.98, which currently ranks second among freshmen and 25th among freshmen all-time. In total, seven freshman girls have run sub-55.32 in the 400m all-time.
