Martavious Davis running at the Alabama State Meet in lane three. 

We used our database to see where this year's freshman class stacks up against the other freshman classes of years past.

The freshman with the top FAT wind-legal time in the nation right now is Etowah, Alabama's Martavious Davis. Davis ran 10.70 (+1.8) to place third at the AHSAA Track and Field 4A-7A State Championships last weekend. There are seven freshmen total under 11 seconds so far this year.

In the 200m, Campbell High School's (GA) Jaderious Thomas holds the nation-leading freshman time of 21.93 (+1.7). Davis isn't far off of Thomas as he holds a wind-legal mark of 21.94 (+0.5) which currently ranks second amongst freshmenIn total, five boys have run sub-22.20 in the 200m.
