Lagat Improves 5,000 Meter American Record
Monaco - Bernard Lagat improved his own American Record from 12:54.12 to 12:53.60 in the 5,000m at the Herculis Monaco Diamond League meet on Friday.

We are on site here in Miramar for the Pan American Junior Championships involving the best 19-and-under athletes from North America, Central America, the Carribean, and South America. It's going to be a great show! Our five-person international coverage team will be covering the meet with photo, video, and editorial coverage starting Friday morning through the meet's completion on Sunday evening.
Small Hollywood-area School goes National AND Global
When it comes to girls’ track and field, the Harvard-Westlake School (photos above by Jeff Sides) is one of those teams that can often get lost in the shuffle. The small independent college preparatory school, located in Los Angeles, has an enrollment (grades 7-12) of roughly 1,600 with slightly more than half that total comprising its high school student body.

Gatorade will present the Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year awards to the nation’s best overall male and female high school athletes on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa. Emceed by ESPN’s Stuart Scott, the awards will be presented by Matthew Stafford, Lisa Leslie, Kevin Love and Jessica Mendoza. All twelve 2010-11 Gatorade National Players of the Year are nominees for this award.
