When you’re a New York track and field fan the buzz about The Penn Relays always starts in March.  Coaches remind each other to get their entries in and try to find out if their relays and athletes are going to make the cut.

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - Team USA hasn’t had a medalist in a major international racewalking event in 10 ½ years - Curt Clausen’s 50K bronze at the 1999 World Championships in Seville.

Tyler Anyan is on Track to surpass both Ben Hubers and Girma Mecheso on the Outdoor 3200 All-Time list becoming one of the the best HS distance runners in Georgia history. Tyler really turned it on beginning at the Nike XC Regionals finishing 2nd in 15:20.60 and this Spring had a monster 8:57.73 at the Gwinnett County Championships, running nearly alone after the first 2 laps. A highly anticipated matchup looms a few weeks away at the Region 8-AAAAA meet with a healthy Kirubel Erassa in the 1600/3200 that will surely be a race to witness in person at Brookwood HS.
