Akron Rubber City Open, OH

Highlights

  • Alyssa McBride (Bryan OH) rocketed herself the top of the pole vault rankings with a steller 13-00 clearance!
  • Maggie Drazba (St. Mary's WV) rolled in the 3200 run with a time of 10:41.20.

Saturday Highlights

  • Trinity Wilson continues to add to her legacy, this time cruising over the hurdles to a US#2 All-Time clocking of 8.23! Sasha Wallace was a distant 2nd in 8.41.  Dior Hall unfortunately hit the 5th hurdle and wound up 6th in the race.
  • Tyler Smith (CAN) provided an epic duel in the boys 800 against New Yorker Strymar Livingston as he crushed the race with a 1:49.46 clocking.  Livingston was 2nd in a US#2 time of 1:51.90.
  • Ariana Washington smoked a US#1 time of 23.83 in the 200 meter dash.
  • Devin Field ran a time of 7.83 in the boys 60 Hurdles, tying for US#2 with all three marks occurring at different meets on the same day today!  Field also won the long jump with a mark of 24-02.50.
  • Sasha Wallace won a a tightly contested triple jump with a leap of 40-10 to 40-08 over Danielle Williams.  The mark is a tie for US#1.
  • Xavier McAllister (NY) won the boys high jump with a leap of 6-10.
  • McKenzie Johnson won the girls pole vault with a clearance of 12-6.
  • Brad Nye (UT) won the boys 1600m run with a time of 4:12.39, impressive running for a meet at altitude.  Erik Harris was 2nd, also impressive with a time of 4:13.66.
  • An equally impressive performance came from Dallin Farnsworth (ID) who ran a time of 9:10.36 for 3200 meters.

Friday Highlights

  • Dior Hall blasted a time of 8.30 in the 60H prelims.  Trinity Wilson ran an 8.37 in her preliminary race. 
  • Sarah Cline was the fastest 200m qualifier in 24.87, but Kendall Baisden is through as well with a season best of 24.81.
  • Devin Field ran the top 60H prelim for boys with a swift 8.07.

Thursday Highlights

  • Avana Story won the weight throw with a toss of 58-00.  

 

Virginia Regional Championships, VA

Central Region Highlights

  • Megan Moye (Cosby VA) set history by running the first sub-5 and sub-11 races ever at the Arthur Ashe Center on a 145 meter oval.  Oh, and you can't wear spikes either!  Moye started her expoits on Friday, anchoring her team to a 9:38.04 4x800 victory with a split of 2:19.  On Saturday she started with a 4:59.44 clocking over 1600 meters to take down the meet  and facility record of 5:03.15.  She then took on the 3200 meters and ran a time of 10:49.17 for the meet and facility record.

Northwest Region Highlights

  • Ryan Thomas (Albermarle VA) ran the 2nd fastest time ever for a sophomore in the 1000 meter run as he kicked in hard over the last lap to stop the clock at a swift 2:28.61.  Ryan's time is all the more impressive as he ran it on a flat track.  Record holder Zavon Watkins (NY) ran his record time of 2:27.59 at the banked Armory track in NY.

 

UK High School Invitational, KY

Highlights

  • Felicia Brown (GA) blasted a nation-leading 53.87 in the 400m dash and set a Meet Record in the process.
  • Kendall Williams (GA) begins her meet with a stellar US#1 5-11 clearance in the high jump.  Williams then added a long jump win in 19-1.25 and a 55H win in 8.57.
  • A great battle in the boys 2 Mile as Tsehaye Hiluf (OH) rocked a 9:10.31 for the win over Tennessee's Brock Baker who was 2nd in 9:10.93.
  • Michael Newton (GA) continues to scorch the oval, winning the 400 in 47.58 and then taking the 200 in 21.56.  
  • Jada Martin (GA) won the 60 dash and 200 dash in impressive fashion with times of 7.55 and 24.00.
  • Jordan Moore ran a US#1 time of 7.80 in the 60 Hurdles, taking down the US#1 mark of 7.83 set earlier today in MO.
  • Danielle Pfeiffer (OH) won the 800 meter run with an impressive time of 2:11.78 for US#3.
  • Tahir Walsh won the boys 60 dash in 6.83.  Justin Scruggs (TN) was 3rd in 6.92 but clocked 6.82 in his prelim.
  • Brandon Kidder (OH) won the boys Mile with a US#3 time of 4:13.57.

 

MITS Meet #2, MI

Highlights

  • The distance results were super deep here with a particularly deep girls 1600.
  • Hannah Meier (Grosse Pointe South MI) won the 1600 with a US#1 4:47.59 clocking.  Sister Haley Meier was 2nd with a time of 4:50.85.  Four other girls were under 5:00 as well, led by Ali Wiersma (Allendale) in 4:55.39.  Grosse Pointe South also put up some impressive depth with Ersula Farrow 6th in 4:57.72 and Kelsie Schwartz 9th in 5:04.18.  These times would equate to a very impressive 19:37 for the 4x1600 relay.
  • In the girls 3200 meter run Julia Bos (Christian MI) won with a time of 10:58.27.
  • Evan Chiplock (Heritage MI) won the boys 3200 with a time of 9:20.20.  He was also 2nd in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:21.56.
  • Conner Mora (Cedar Springs MI) won the 1600 with a time of 4:18.70.

 

CIAC State Open Championships, CT

Highlights

  • Precious Holmes (Hillhouse High CT) was the darling of the meet, setting meet records in two events.  Holmes of Hillhouse High School absolutely scorched the field and crushed the meet record with a US#1 time of 1:31.23.  The old record was 1:35.06 set back in 2008 by Annelies Gamble of Amity High School, and Holmes was previously ranked US#1 when she ran 1:32.61 at the SCC Coaches Invitational last month.  Holmes set another meet record when she crossed the line in the 300m.  Her 38.56 surpassed the 1996 record of 39.17 set by Shayla Wallace of Northwest Catholic. Holmes’ 300m time is currently US#2.

MA Divisional Indoor Championships, MA

  • Catarina Rocha (Peabody MA) won the girls 1 Mile Run with a time of 4:55.91.
  • James Sullivan (Acton-Boxborough MA) won the boys 1 Mile Run with a time of 4:15.33.
  • The 600 dash was impressive with 2 under 1:35 as Kendal Knous (Franklin MA) won in 1:34.15 and Laura Williamson (Wachusett MA) was 2nd in 1:34.99.
  • Carla Forbes launched herself 19-9 in the long jump for a new meet record.

 

RI Indoor State Championships, RI

Highlights

  • Molly Keating ran a winning time of 9:59.47 in the 3000 meter run, a US#9 performance.
  • Dakota Dailey-Harris cleared 5'10" in the high jump for US#2.  The mark is also a Rhode Island State Record.
  • Royal Cheatham won the 300m (40.30), 55m (7.11) and Long Jump (18'5.5").
  • Ann Dagrin tossed a 51'10.5 in the Weight Throw, a US#6 performance.
  • Bryce Kelley raced his way to a 4:02.79 1500m for US#3.
  • Rueben Horace threw 71'10.25 in the Weight Throw, good for US#3.

 

NJSIAA Group Championships, NJ

Group 1&4 Highlights

  • Olivia Baker (Columbia NJ) won the 400 meter dash in 55.94 and the 800 meter run in 2:17.05 in a tight duel with Emily Duffey (Lenape Regional NJ), 2:17.25.
  • Dina Iacone (Washington Twp NJ) won the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:40.03.
  • Columbia also won a tight race with Lenape Regional in the 4x400 relay with times of 3:57.46 to 3:57.60.
  • Danielle Delgado (Franklin Twp NJ) won the 55 Hurdles with a time of 8.17.  
  • Tim Ball (Piscataway NJ) won the boys 3200 meter run with a time of 9:13.13.
  • Anthony Averett (Woodbury NJ) won the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.51.
  • Jermaine Collier (Trenton Central NJ) won the 55 Hurdles with a time of 7.20.
  • Jared Mason (West Orange NJ) won the boys 800 with a time of 1:55.36.

Group 2&3 Highlights

  • Braheme Days (Bridgeton NJ) heaved the shot put 69-2 for the win and a big US#1 improvement.
  • Matthew Nelson (Barnegat Twp NJ) won the boys 3200 meter run with a time of 9:14.32.
  • Benjamin Malone (Pascack Valley NJ) won the boys 1600 meter run in 4:17.75.
  • Neptune NJ girls won the 4x400 relay in 3:58.47 with a 55.x anchor split by Ajee Wilson.
  • Mackenzie Barry (Mendham NJ) won the girls 3200 meter run in 10:37.19.

 

NJISAA Prep Championships A, NJ

Highlights

  • Edward Cheserek (St. Benedict's Prep NJ) had a pretty good workout, winning the 1600 in 4:17.61, the 3200 in 9:13.00 and the 800 in 1:53.16.
  • Naija Omari (St. Benedict's Prep NJ) won the 400 dash in a time of 49.65.

 

NJCTC Championships, NJ

Highlights

  • Christian Brothers Academy NJ showed really good depth in the 1600 meter run.  Aaron Liberatore won with a time of 4:22.87, William Bragg was 2nd in 4:23.22, Jack Boyle was 3rd in 4:24.16 and Mike McClemens was 4th in 4:25.12.
  • Najee Glass (St. Peter's Prep NJ) won the 300 meter dash in 34.12.

 

47th TFCAGP Meet of Champions, PA

Highlights

  • PA now has four hurdlers in the US top ten, as Eric Futch of Penn Wood runs 7.95 to earn a meet record, PA#2 and US#3 honors! He also ran 22.27 for PA#2 honors and a 200 meter gold medal!
  • Dustin Wilson of Chestnut Hill Academy also set a meet record in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:47.18, which improves his PA#1 and US#9! 
  • Ned Willig led off Great Valley's distance medley in 3:01 for 1200 meters to lead Great Valley to a PA#1 time of 10:26.51 (US#13)! 
  • Alec Peabody of Abington Friends surprised many in the long jump with a T-PA#1 mark of 23-8 (tie US#9)!

 

DVGTCA Meet of Champions, PA

Highlights

  • Jody Ann Evans of Quakertown improved on her PA#1 (Tie US#10) mark in the 60 meter dash with a winning time of 7.61! 
  • Emma Keenan of Gwynedd-Mercy broke her own meet record in the 800 meter run with a winning time of 2:12.30, just off her PA#1 time (She is already US#4). She also added a 57.2 split on her state qualifying 4x400 meter relay team. 
  • Maria Seykora of Notre Dame won the 3000 meter run with a PA#2, US#23 time of 10:09.96.
  • Sara Sargent of Pennsbury and Meghan McGovern of North Penn had a classic dual in the mile, with Sargent edging out McGovern 5:00.29-5:00.48. 
  • Swenson ran 1:44.30 to win the 4x200 meter relay, making it the 3rd time this season they have run 1:44 on a flat track.
  • Notre Dame closed the gap on PA#1 Strath Haven in the 4x800 meter relay with a PA#2, US#15 time of 9:21.24. Pennridge was 2nd in a PA#3 time of 9:22.15 (US#16) and Downingtown East was 3rd in a PA#4 time of 9:23.87 (US#17).

 

TSTCA Championships, PA

Angel Piccirillo rocked the track at the TSTCA Champs.

  • Angel Piccirillo (Homer Center PA) ran a US#13 time of 4:54.83 for the One Mile run and completed her impressive double by winning the 3000 meter run in a time of 10:06.17.
