Intermediate Girls 100m Hurdles Prelims - Two of Virginia's top young hurders will be moving onto the finals in New Orleans with Hampton rising sophomore Chantel Ray clocking a time of 14.58 (4th fastest overall) in Tuesday's preliminary round, while Landstown rising junior Leah Lott took first in her heat with a 14.67 clocking (7th fastest overall).

 

Young Women 200m Dash Prelims - With sub 25 second performances, Western Branch's Taranisha Taylor (6th fastest overall - 24.55) and Tabb's Kiara Porter (8th fastest overall - 24.72) both qualify for the second round in the 200 meter dash. Shaquera Leach of Briar Woods was one of the final qualifiers on time as she tied for 23rd fastest in the first round at 25.10.

 

Intermediate Boys Triple Jump - Marquis Childress of Smithfield High School recorded a big personal best mark of 46'1.75" to earn All-American honors with a fifth place showing.

 

Young Men 110m Hurdles Prelims - Trey Holloway of King's Fork finished 2nd in his heat, but 12th fastest overall and unfortunately missing the finals with a time of 14.67.
