Tarpon Invitational (FL)

 

Highlights

  • Ryan Schnulle (Charlotte) rolled to a 1:52.93 victory in the 800 meter run.
  • Sammy Watkins (South Fort Myers) won the 100 in 10.45 and the 200 in 21.78 after running 21.64 in the prelims.

 

Jesuit Sheaner Relays (TX)

Highlights

  • Desoto boys ruled the relays in Texas this weekend.  They won the 4x100 in 41.45, the 4x200 in 1:27.10, and the 4x400 in 3:16.23.
  • Kenneth Minkah (Desoto) won the 110 hurdles in 14.19, running 14.15 in the prelims, and 37.86 in the 300 hurdles, with a 37.66 in the prelims.
  • Williams Stovall (Desoto) won the 800 with a time of 1:53.31.

 

Runners Roost of Fort Collins (CO)

Highlights

  • Kaela Edwards (Littleton) blasted a 2:11.59 800 in her first attempt EVER at the distance.  We should be hearing her name some more this season!

 

Oxford VS Lafayette Duel (MS)

  • Justin Fondren (Oxford) cleared the 7' barrier yet again this season with a 7-00 jump.  Just last weekend Justin went 7-01 at the Oxford Invitational.

 

Gateway Conference Champs (FL)

Highlights

  • Kendal Williams (Stanton Prep) won the 100 dash with a blazing time of 10.46.
  • Taurus Simmons (Wolfson) won the 200 with a time of 21.54.

 

BCAA Championships (FL)

Highlights

  • Shayla Sanders (Boyd Anderson) rolled in the 100 and 200, winning with times of 11.57 and 23.69.
  • Boyd Anderson also won the 4x400 with a time of 3:54.81.

 

GMAC Championship (FL)

Highlights

  •  Miami Northwestern broke the Florida State Record in the 4x400 Meter Relay on their way to a US#1 time of 3:12.56.
  • Not to be left out the Miami Northwestern girls won the 4x400 with a swift 3:50.79 as well as the 4x100 in 47.82.
  • Hugh Graham (Miami Northwestern) rolled in the 400 dash, winning with a 47.47 clocking in a tight duel over Miami Booker T. Washington's Dedric Dukes, who clocked a 47.50.

 

5th Pirate Invitational (PA)

  • Allison Updike (Tamaqua) won the javelin with a toss of 144-09.

 

 

adidas Meet of Champions (CA)

The adidas Meet of Champions at Azusa Pacific is the first of three stops in the adidas Golden Stripes series. The adidas Golden Stripes series includes three regional invitationals which give athletes a chance to win an invitation to the Dream Mile and Dream 100 at the adidas Grand Prix in New York City on June 11.

  • Girls adidas Dream Mile Invitational race: Alli Billmeyer (Torrey Pines CA) rolls it alone with a time of 4:50.53.  Billmeyer took the pace from the gun and built a nice lead that she maintained the whole way to the line, but just missed the auto qualifier of 4:50 for NY.
  • Boys adidas Dream Mile Invitational race: Jantzen Oshier (CA) won with a solid last 600 in a blazing time of 4:07.78, with Ammar Moussa (CA) closing hard for 2nd in 4:09 over Matt Carpowich (CA), 4:09.49.  Oshier is the first auto-qualifier for NY!

 

FSU Relays (FL)

Great distance races! In girls 3200, Kacy Smith of Estero sits on the heels of Cocoa Beach's Shelby Davidson for 7.5 laps and then outkicks her to the finish. Both girls are good friends... maybe not after this race?

Chandler Rotary Invitational (AZ)

The Elite Girls Milesplit MIle will be name "The Sally Meyerhoff/Milesplit Mile" in memory of former Arizona runner Sally Meyerhoff who died in a biking accident on March 8th.  Sally's parents and Uncle will be on site. 

US#3 3200 runner Billy Orman (Tuba City) will run both the Milesplit Elite mile and the 3200.  He is hoping to break 9 minutes.   Jade Stepter  (Canyon del Oro) is currently ranked US#1 in the 300 hurdles and has the fastest prelim time going into the finals tonight.

Highlights

  • Sally Meyerhoff Girls MileSplit Mile: Julia Foster (NM) won with a time of 4:56.45, going through 1600 meters in 4:54.61 for a US#3.. 
  • Boys MileSplit Mile: Billy Orman (AZ) won with a clocking of 4:13.55, going through 1600 in 4:12.05 for a US#1.  Billy went on to win the 3200 in a US#5 winning time of 9:07.25.  Orman, who already holds the US#3 spot with a 9:00.27, broke the meet record by 7 seconds and was named the male outstanding track athlete of the meet.
  • Rolonda Jumbo (Jr., Chinle) won the 3200 meter run in a US#5 time of 10:38.65.
  • Jasmine Todd (Jr., Chandler) broke the Arizona State Recoed in the triple jump with a jump of  41 - 5  for a US#1.  She also ran an 11.80 100 meter dash prelim and an 11.73 wind aided final.  Todd was named the female outstanding field athlete of the meet.
  • Edmond Baker (Sr., Desert Vista) jumped to a US#3 6-10 in the high jump and was named the male outstanding field athlete of the meet.
  • In the girls shot put, Hannah Carson hurled the shot put 45-5.25 for a US#3
  • Ashley Kealamakia (Sr., Liberty) won the girls 800 meter run with a blistering 2:13.78 US#2 time.  Kealamakia was the girls outstanding track athlete of the meet.
  • Cameron Taylor (Sr., Westwood) ran a 13.98 in the prelims of the 100 hurdles for a US#6.
  • Paul Perkins won the boys 300 meter hurdles for a US#7 time of 38.07
  • The Flowing Wells boys won the 4x800 Meter Relay with a US#5 time of 7:57.68
  • Hamilton boys won the boys 4x100 Meter Relay in 41.77 for a US#9
  • Trae Williams (Jr., Deer Valley) won the 200 meter dash with a 21.44 US#7 (no wind aided).
  • Hannah Carson (Sr., Chandler) improved on her US#6 shot put by 3/4 of an inch to 45-06.00.  Carson also won the high jump with a US#3 jump of 5-8.
  • The Chandler girls earned a US#4 spot in the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.79.
  • Jade Stepter (Jr., Canyon Del Oro) ran a 43.97 in the 300 hurdle prelims for a US#6 spot.  Stepter held the US#1 spot until this weekend.  She is currently ranked US#2.
  • Sherrelle Jordan (So., Chandler) ran a US#10 unaided 14.35 in the 100 meter hurdle prelims.

    • Castro Valley won the boys DMR with a time of 10:23.60.

    • Eleanor Fulton (CO) won the girls Mile with a time of 4:50.78.

Highlights

  • Wesley Frazier (NC) won the girls invitational 3200 meter run with a time of 10:28 over Sarah Rapp, 10:31.84.
  • Thomas Graham (NC) won the boys invitational 3200 meter run with a time of 9:07.17.
