Wow, Dyestat overlooks Kelsey and Milesplit doesn't list Eleanor. The three stongest girls in the state of Colorado are Kelsey Lakowske, Kaitlin Hanenburg and Eleanor Fulton at least in my opinion and they are all on the states premier cross country teams, so it
Normally I don't respond to these however, you bring up a concern I was battling with pretty tough when I did the rankings. All I can say is I had my reasons. I really wanted to stick with the sweet 16 concept, so when Eleanor kept getting ranked 17th I had to cut her, but I did have her 17th. I got the same issues over Arizona Brian Shrader, its all motivation.
You have got to be kidding me you left of Shrader of AZ? Come on now, 11th at FL last year and the top returner and can't make the top 16 rankings???? Whatever! Give him some respect.
Who is Jeff Arnier from TX? I looked at his bio and although a good soph cant see why he would be ranked. Am I missing something?
Alot more information than just 2008 XC results go into making the rankings what they are. Primarily, performances during this season will result in an athlete climbing up the rankings. One correction however, #5 Futsum Zeinasellassie was 7th at FL last year and is the top-returner.
Ok, so I understand that more than just 2008 results go into the rankings... so did you take into consideration that Shrader ran 1:52, 4:12 in the state meet on the same day? Sorry that I thought he was the top returner but he must be 2nd! I don't understand how AZ runners are so often overlooked, he is amazing and deserves some recognition. Oh and how about the fact that he smashed the course record at one of AZ premeier meets in Flagstaff.... running at 7,000ft elevation to say the least!
Where in the world is Kirubel Erassa?!?!?! He has a PR of 14:59 and I saw him run it! He won't be out of the rankings for long!!!
I'm surprised that Caleb Hoover from Missouri has not made the list either. Watch out for him! I saw him run (as a sophomore) at the Class 2 state track meet last spring and he ran 4:15 (state record), 9:29 & 1:57. First XC meet of the year he ran 15:35!
is there ANY respect for Florida? Florida has a number a guys who have ran much faster times than many of the Sweet 16 Boys!
How is that Kathryn Fluehr is not ranked #1? In her three consecutive sanctioned 5k races this season she's tallied: 17:11.0 @ the Venice Invite, 17:29.0 @ the Fort Myers Optimist and 17:00.7 in the ROC @ FL Runners X. I would like you to explain how that body of work doesn't rank you tops. Dyestat gets it.
