Salute To Seniors: Austin Keim (Wyomissing)

What was your most memorable race/competition?

My most memorable race was this year running in the state 4x4 and running a 3:19.54.

Where did you face your biggest competition?

Post season was our biggest competition because we had schuylkill valley counties, districts, and states.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?

I pulled my hamstring this year and ended up running a 49.9 in my last race so this years 4x400 relay.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your athletic career in high school?

I wouldn't change anything because I ended running my fastest time.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

I had to get my hamstring to heal before post season to help my team which was very difficult. 

What will you miss the most?
I will miss the jokes with the boys like joe Cullen, and Ryan cargo. Also just the nice people you get to meet before races when everyone is nervous to run.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes? 
4 years might seem like a long time but it goes by very fast so don't think you can get away skipping workouts because it adds up.

How have your coaches influenced your performances and your life goals overall?

My coaches taught me the value of owning up to my mistakes and to make no excuses for what you do.

What are your post-high school plans?

I will be attending racc for informational technology.
