She did it. She did the one thing that would get her to the No. 1 spot for the second straight season. Tuohy's spectacular national outdoor record in the mile (4:33.87) capped a tremendous spring season that saw the prodigious talent secure a national record in the 3200m (9:47.88) at the Loucks Games and a sophomore class record in the 3K (9:09.71) at the New York State Championships. For good measure, she earned a US No. 1 mark of 4:14.45 in the 1500m -- giving her four on the season. Tuohy is the athlete to hold both the 1-mile and 2-mile records at the same time.

She had the fastest combined 100-200 performances in the country this season.

Caitlin Collier has one more race on the international stage to get under 2:00 in the 800m. Along with her 2:00.85 at the Music City Distance Carnival -- the fifth fastest time all all-time -- Collier orchestrated three efforts under 2:03 in 2018. She also ran a US No. 2 mile time of 4:38.48 and a US No. 2 effort of 4:26.03 in the 1500m.
