Anthony Schwartz Takes Pepsi Florida Relays 100 In 10.16

Anthony Schwartz didn't get the conditions he was hoping for on Friday in the finals of the boys 100m dash at the Pepsi Florida Relays.

Wet, damp, dreary.

But the Plantation American Heritage (FL) High senior still managed to convert on the second fastest wind-legal 100m time of his career, posting a 10.16 second win at the University of Florida Track to take his second straight title in the event.

Schwartz also concluded two successful days racing at the 100m, bookending his preliminary effort of 10.18 seconds on Thursday (video above), which pushed him into the final.

Schwartz, a dual-recruit in football and track for Auburn University, was dominant throughout, but his work isn't done just yet, with an anchor remaining for the American Heritage boys 4x100.

The squad, ranked US No. 1 in the country with a time of 40.31, is looking to drop an all-time best in the event.
