The Scoop: Marlee Starliper Turns In Star Performance In Pa. And Much More

Marlee Starliper Runs Away With Two Big Victories Indoor States

Marlee Starliper didn't wait to make a move in the girls mile on Sunday at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships in State College, Pennsylvania.

The Northern (PA) High sophomore, who finished third at the Millrose Games girls mile behind Gabrielle Wilkinson and Kelsey Chmiel, went hard in the opening lap and formed a nearly insurmountable lead by 400 meters.

In doing so, she gapped one of the two competitors who had beaten her at Millrose: Wilkinson.

It was a perfect race strategy for Starliper, who never faltered and kept on the gas to a winning time of 4:43.49, besting her previous indoor best of 4:44.97. Wilkinson was second in 4:52.22.

Starliper added another victory in the 3000m, winning in 9:45.92.
