Beachwood's Mia Knight Is Seeking A Big 2018 Indoor Track Season

Beachwood's Mia Knight will kick off her 2018 indoor track season next weekend.

One of Ohio's top sprinters is eager to get her 2018 indoor track season underway, as Mia Knight is determined to add to her already extensive state championship collection.  The Beachwood senior is the two-time defending DII / DIII state champion in the 200m event and she's looking to make it a three-peat on March 3rd at the SPIRE Institute

Knight also excels at the 60m distance, as she's recorded top 5 placements at the last three indoor state championships, however she has not yet captured the elusive win.  She's planning to breakthrough this year and claim her first 60m state title.  Knight understands that the journey to state's will be a challenging one, as she has many formidable sprinters to line up against at the big meets where she's intending on competing at this year.  She references Dublin Coffman's Abby Steiner, Pickerington Central's McKenzie Long and St. Peter's Mansfield's Alysse Wade as the friendly rivals who drive her to train hard and strive to become the best sprinter that she can be.

Mia Knight is one of the best sprinters in the stacked DII / DIII division this year.

While Knight acknowledges that there's unfinished business, particularly in the 60m event, at the high school level, she's also very excited to embark on her college racing career.  She recently committed to her 'dream school' - the University of Pennsylvania, located in Philadelphia.  Big things appear to be in store for the future Ivy League athlete, both on and off the track.

Knight is intending to make her long awaited 2018 indoor season debut at next weekend's Youngstown State Open / High School Meet #2, where fast times will be expected of her.  Her stellar sprinting resume would indicate that she'll be up to the task.
