Boys 1-Mile
One of the more interesting events at Dartmouth will be the boys 1-mile run, featuring the likes of Drew Thompson, Joe Dos Reis, Max DiMuccio, and defending champion Alexander Korczynski.
Thompson, a senior from Fairfield (CT) High who's committed to Dartmouth, is a little less than two months off his eighth-place performance at Foot Locker Nationals, where he ran 15:43.70 at Balboa Park. But winter track is a different animal, and Thompson is likely eyeing a different goal.
Two weeks ago, he ran 4:23.84 in the full mile at the Boston Holiday Challenge, but look for Thompson to push for a time under 4:20 along with Dos Reis and DiMuccio, teammates at La Salle Academy (RI).
A year ago, Korczynski won the event in 4:19.18, though Dos Reis, who was injured for part of the cross country season, also comes in with a PR at 4:19.04. DiMuccio will look to improve on his 4:25.65 from last season as well.
