Solid Showing By Lawler At Foot Locker Nationals


Ellie Lawler earned All-American status for the second time in her career.

Competing with some of the nation's best at Saturday's Foot Locker Nationals, the South Kingstown senior finished 15th overall with a time of 18 minutes, 11.90 seconds. Lawler, who was 14th as a sophomore, was the fourth fastest from the Northeast region. New York's Katherine Lee (Shoreham-Wading River) placed fourth overall, New Hampshire's Jacqueline Gaughan (Exeter) took fifth and Washington D.C.'s Page Lester (National Catholic) finished 14th.

In dominant fashion, California's Claudia Lane (Malibu) won her second straight title. Lane covered the 5K layout at Balboa Park in 17:03.40.
