Over the past four years of the state meet at Hereford High School, some teams have proven themselves to be the best in November. Imagine a meet where each team's top runners from the state meet in 2014-17 competed head-to-head. Which teams come out on top in each classification?
4A Boys
No surprises here: the past six 4A state meet winners have gone Severna Park - Severna Park - Severna Park - Dulaney - Dulaney - Severna Park. The top teams are concentrated in the DC - Baltimore corridor. The tightest 1-5 spread belongs to the Wootton boys at 22.3 seconds.
3A Boys
This year's state champions from Linganore come out on top thanks in large part to the emergence of junior Kyle Guinn (fifth at this year's state meet). All four corners of the state are represented, with four teams coming from Howard County. The Westminster boys had the tightest 1-5 spread at 21.5 seconds.
2A Boys
The River Hill boys' state championship streak ended at three this year, but their run of dominance atop the 3A classification was a special run. Meanwhile the Liberty boys matched the Hawks by extending their winning streak to three this season. The Calvert boys come in third thanks almost entirely to this year's team. The River Hill boys featured the tightest 1-5 spread at 24.4 seconds.
1A Boys
The Bohemia Manor boys looked truly great in their win on Saturday, and it wasn't just a 1A fluke - they were fifth in the merged results from this year's meet. The tightest 1-5 spread belonged to the Patterson Mill boys at 46.3 seconds.
