The Top 12 Boys To Watch At the NXR Heartland Region

4. Khalid Hussein, Wayzata (MN)
Hailing from one of the dominant cross country teams this season, and of recent years, Hussein makes Wayzata's lineup tick. The Trojans, ranked No. 4 in the Flo50 boys rankings, remain a legitimate national title team contender and Hussein is hitting his stride at just the right time.

Hussein, who finished 29th at NXN in 2016, has the experience and know-how to compete in a race of this level. But while he finished ninth last year, expect Hussein to be among the lead pack this time around -- depending on how Wayzata plays the team race.

Hussein's season PR is 15:22, which isn't jaw-dropping, but after winning his state meet over Acer Iverson and many other talented athletes, look for a strong showing  and an improvement from his finish just a year ago.
