3. Loudoun Valley's Depth Is Crushing The State Of Virginia Already

___

The expectations for Loudoun Valley (Virginia) High's boys team aren't exactly surprising. With the addition of Flo50 preseason No. 15 Sam Affolder, a transfer from Carlisle (Pennsylvania), the program is considered among the best in the nation. And they haven't even raced yet.

But this weekend truly showed the depth of Loudoun Valley -- the former stomping grounds for Drew Hunter, a 2015 graduate running for Adidas.

At the Great Meadow Invitational at the Plains, the Vikings finished third overall in the boys Varsity A Race -- without even fielding its top eight runners.

Behind Brayden Cassidy, Kellen Hasle, Eliot Petersen, Alec Venable, and David Velasquez, the boys program scored 141 points -- just 14 points shy of winning the meet -- with a spread of just 31 seconds, and impressed quite a few people in the process.

To top it off, Loudoun Valley won the freshman boys race (24 points), the junior/senior race (35 points), and fourth in the Varsity B race (111 points).

It's only a matter of time before we see this team show us what they have in store for the season.
