Brandee' Johnson & Masai Russell Hurdle Their Way To Medals in Pan-Am Games!

TRUJILLO, Peru - The American duo of Brandee' Johnson (Nansemond River - 16) and Masai Russell (Bullis School - 18) stole the show in the 400H final at the Pan-American Junior Athletic Championships. Johnson, who is a rising sophomore at the University of Florida, took home the gold in 56.65 with Russell finishing third as a high school junior in 57.55.

Brandee' is a veteran with the Team USA jersey but Russell was just a rookie. Both had to bring their "A" game by running 59.61 and 60.69 in the prelims to advance into the final in a favorable fashion. Russell's performance also ranks US #1 amongst returners and clearly puts her on a path to rival nearly any other high school hurdler in history.
