Girl's 100m Hurdles 15-16, Finals 1

DURHAM, NC -- Western Branch (Va.) High rising junior Shadajah Ballard scored the second best sophomore performance in the 100m hurdles nationally at the Russell Blunt East Coast Invitational this weekend, producing a time of 13.51 seconds (+0.1). The time ranks No. 11 nationally. 

That was just her third outing under 14 seconds as a sophomore and fourth overall. 

She also logged the No. 10 best sophomore run in the 100m, crossing the finish in a personal best time of 11.68 seconds (-0.2)Within Virginia, that ranks No. 8 all-time in the event. 

Ballard, who repeated as the Russell Blunt 100m champ, recently finished 15th at the USA Junior Championships in the 100m and was second overall at the VHSL Group 5A/6A Championships, finishing in 11.84 seconds. 

Ballard is also the state's Group 6A champion in the 55m indoors.
