Texas Stars Shine Bright On Last Day Of NBNO

Texas track stars had a good showing on Day 3 of the NBNO to close out the meet. What else could you expect? Texas tracksters have been tearing up the high school scene all season and continued things to close out the season.

In the Girls Championship 200m, KYNNEDY FLANNEL blazed her way to a 23.72 for the WIN. Flannel was able to win her prelim heat. After coming in with the third fastest time from the prelim, Flannel had a prime time lane assignment and used that to her advantage FTW. Flannel was a little off of her time from the UIL 6A state meet where she ran 23.34. Nevertheless, she is just a junior, so we have one more season to watch her in the sprints and jumps.

ROSALINE EFFIONG also battled the top girls in the Girls Championship 200m. She finished one place behind Flannel in the fourth prelim spot in 23.97. Effiong, just a DeSoto sophomore, finished seventh in the final in 24.08. Remember the name, there will be much more to come from this young lady.

In the boy's 400H, the usual suspects represented for Texas. CHARLES BROCKMAN III moved up to the 400H for the first time this season and dropped an impressive 50.98 for third place. ERIC EDWARDS finished right behind Brockman in fourth place with a 52.21 for his first 400H race of the year.

CALEB CAVANAUGH also impressed with his 53.36 for an eighth place finish.
