Kings Of The 4x200: WATCH Team Texas Blaze At Great Southwest

Team Texas wins the GSW 4x2 in 1:24.4

The state of Texas owned the national rankings in the 4x200 this season. Some of those top kids on those teams joined forces to put in work on the rest of the nation.

Team Texas took to the University of New Mexico track and squashed all of the talk. Several teams and coaches from other states were feeling as if something special was going to happen. Thing played out the complete opposite. It wasn't special, it was the same old story. It was Texas doing the usual....dominate the 4x200.  It's almost a situation where we should have been looking to see who was the first to cross the line behind Texas.

In fact, the other states couldn't beat one city. Team Texas coaches put a quartet together made up of all Dallas Metroplex athletes. Maybe next year, we could give them a shot at all El Paso, all Houston, or all San Antonio teams. I still don't think it'll matter. Texas is King.

At the awards stand, it was obvious the coaching staff and team members in burnt orange were not the ones to challenge, as the other state teams and coaches had to take their place at the lower levels at the awards stand. Throwing rocks at the throne of the 4x200 Kings was not a good idea. Maybe they can go to the drawing board and try again next year.
