WATCH: Hayley Jackson Grabs 3200m Title In Second Fastest Time In State History

Lusby Patuxent (Md.) High senior Hayley Jackson lowered her own Class 2A record in the 3200m on Thursday at Morgan State, going 10:21.73 at the MPSSAA Track and Field Championships to win her second outdoor championship in three seasons.

It was the second fastest championship 3200m in Maryland history, only trailing Arundel's Christy Nichols, who set an overall record in 1996 with a time of 10:15. She bested her former Class 2A record by 16 seconds.

With the win, Jackson, an eighth-place Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals finisher, added to her massive collection of hardware. She now has nine championships between her indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

In February, Jackson set the Maryland indoor record in the 1600m with a time of 4:45.
