Injury Sidelines Anthony Schwartz From Repeat State Title Bids In The 100 & 200


Flrunners is reporting that Plantation American Heritage (Fl.) High junior Anthony Schwartz, the reigning FHSAA Class 2A champion in the 100m and 200m, will be held out of the 200m dash Saturday after suffering an apparent hamstring injury at the FHSAA Track and Field Championships. 

The World Youth U18 record holder in the 100m finished 12th in the Class 2A 100m finals in 12.83 seconds. His teammate, Tyson Campbell, won the championship race in 10.76 seconds. 

Schwartz ran a nation-leading 10.15 seconds in the 100m at the Pepsi Florida Relays in early April.
