The Scoop: Athletes Emerging in March, National Leaderboard Evolving

With the outdoor track and field season in full swing, we're starting to see the emergence of athletes across every corner of the country, and with that, the evolution of the national leaderboard.

From this past weekend, more than 26 US No. 1 times and marks -- across boys and girls competition -- went down, from the boys 4x200m relay and pole vault in Texas, to the boys high jump in Alabama, to the girls 100m and 200m sprints in Florida, to the girls javelin and distance medley relays in Washington.

Of course, some of these performances are likely to be broken as early as next week, but what it ultimately says is that athletes are beginning to show signs of development across all competitions.
