Preseason All-Classes All-State Girl's Triple Jump

Preseason All-State All-Classes Girl's Triple Jump

The 2017 triple jump looks extremely competitive on the girl's side. Leading the field is Kara Steele, with her best mark comes at altitude from the Greatsouthwest meet. The event takes place in Albuquerque New Mexico. Thin air means long jumps and fast sprint times. However, Kara's other jumps are still impressive making her the most consistent performer on our entire list. She is versatile running an amazing 400 dash and will leave Kirkwood as one of Coach McWoods's most decorated athletes. Coming in at number two is our highest ranking small class athlete is junior Bailey Gilbert who also has a great long jump to support her finishing phase of the triple. Other interesting storylines include the dynamic Battle High duo who both return to dominate the state series in the hop, skip, and jump. Finally, I would be remiss if I did not mention I will be pulling for Madison Rodgers of Marquette high school this coming season. Madison worked with our summer training crew. Good luck to all the girls! Remember it is not where you start but where you finish! Could we see a few 40-foot triple jumpers this season? I sure hope so!
