Nia Ali qualifies into 100-meter hurdles semis

Nia Ali advanced safely into the semifinals of the 100-meter hurdles at the Olympic Games in Rio, Tuesday morning.

Ali, who starred at West Catholic High School before transferring to Pleasantville High School in New Jersey before her senior year, clocked a 12.76 to win her heat. She advanced to the next round easily along with fellow USA teammates Brianna Rollins and Kristi Castlin. 

Ali will be in semifinal heat two in a favorable lane four. That race will go off at approximately 7:53 PM, Wednesday night.
