Cheltenham's Chanel Brissett came into a loaded 100 hurdles final and came out a national champion. The junior ran a wind-legal 13.01 for the win, a huge PR and the ___ fastest time of all-time in the event. That's also good enough for US#1. Next up for Brissett is the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships in Clovis, California as she continues to work towards the Olympic Trials.

Penn Wood claimed a national championship in the 1600 meter sprint medley relay. The team of Janae Pitt, Elicia Moore, Terri Turner, and Agnes Mansaray ran 3:56 for the win. Mansaray provided the 800 anchor leg to pull her team into the lead for the victory.

South Williamsport's Katie Jones took second place in a competitive pole vault competition. The junior did jump a personal best, though, clearing 13-4.5 as she continues to inch closer to the state record. Georgia's Carson Dingler won the event, breaking the meet record with a clearance of 13-8.5.

Connellsville's Madison Wiltrout was second in Friday's championship javelin throw. The junior tossed it 155-10. Katelyn Gochenour claimed the title with a PR throw of 171-1. This was the first throw of the season for Gochenour, who is from Nebraska. Kutztown's Jocelen Ruth was fifth overall with a throw of 142-11.

Jordan Geist of Knoch came up just short of a national title in the shot put. The junior was in a tight battle with Texas' Adrian Piperi, who Geist beat a few weeks ago in Idaho. Piperi threw 73-5.25 to beat Geist's best of 73-2.75. Geist's 74-4.5 still holds at US#1.

State College couldn't hold their US#1 in the boys' 4x800, but the quartet of Owen Wing, Nick Feffer, Anthony Degleris, and Alex Milligan still took third in the nation. They clocked a 7:39.49, a few seconds slower than their winning time from states. Great Oaks took the win and the US#1 spot, behind a 1:49.3 anchor leg from Isaac Cortes.

The North Penn girls' 4x800, operating under the name North Wales RC, took fifth in the loaded race that Shenendehowa (NY) won in 8:50.58. The North Penn squad of Ariana Gardizy, Uche Nwogwugwu, Jenna Webb, and Mikaela Vlasic ran 9:03.44.

Norristown's Jayana Webb had a huge weekend in the "Emerging Elite" section. In the 400, Webb took second in 55.89. Then on Saturday, Webb dipped under 24 seconds twice. It first came in the prelims, then in the finals, Webb ran away with the win in a time of 23.37.

Germantown Friends' junior Nick Dahl placed fifth in the 2 mile, running a time of 9:11.07.

New Balance Nationals Outdoor action continues through Sunday.
