This Seven-Year-Old Is Monday Motivation For The Rest Of Your Life

Simon Caceres has cystic fibrosis, Type 1 diabetes and a heart condition. But that hasn't stopped him from becoming an integral member of the Colorado Buffs track and field program.

He's also only seven years old.

The 4-foot-1, 51-pound athlete works out with the Buffs every Thursday through Team IMPACT, a non-profit group that links children with chronic medical conditions to sports programs.

"It's nice being an honorary member. I love it," he told John Meyer for The Denver Post. "It's probably one of the best parts of my life. They just love me."

The Denver Post reports that the first-grader at Niwott Elementary School has improved his strength and stamina since meeting regularly with the Buffs.

"He inspires us more than he could understand," high jumper Mason Chronowski told Meyer. "I love it when he hangs out with us. His condition and the things he's gone through, that's something we don't completely understand. Having him here helps him a lot. He loves it, but it pushes me as an athlete and as a person to do my best. I'm gifted with things he's not going to know. I want to make sure we make the time we spend with him as great as it can be."
