What to Watch

The Girls Dream Mile qualifier features Nevada Mareno (pictured above) in her track debut. We haven't seen the 2015 NBNI Mile champion since she placed third at Foot Locker Nationals, but she did clock a dirty 10:02/4:43 double back in November. The Leesville Road, NC junior has taken her time to get back to business and is likely ready to get rolling again. Top competition includes multiple-time All-American Libby Davidson and precocious Florida freshman Caitlin Collier, who owns a 4:51 PR. That said, Mareno's best mile is eight seconds ahead of anyone else in the field.

Several finalists from the NBNI Boys Championship Mile are entered in the Boys Dream Mile qualifier, including Tyler Cox-Philyaw, Dalton Hengst, Joshua Hoey, Kenny Kneisel and Frank Pittman. Sophomore Hengst was the top finisher in New York, placing seventh in 4:11.42. Hoey's older brother, Jaxson, is also entered and owns a 1600m best of 4:11.47.

NBNI Emerging Elite 2 mile champion Beth Taye of Maryland headlines the Girls Elite 3200m field with her 10:35 best. She'll face Foot Locker finalist Anna Vess, as well as sub-11 runners in Sophie Ebihara, Niamh Schumacher, Samantha Marin, Morgan Lewis and Sarah Bodmer.

Three athletes in the Boys Elite 3200m have run under 9:20, led by Connor Lane in 9:15, Sam Teller in 9:16 and Jeremy Brown in 9:17. Last year, the top three boys ran under 9:10 with champion Tanis Baldwin clocking 9:02.
