Samiyah Samuels Talks Rio 2016 After U.S. #13 All-Time Indoor!

Although Cypress Springs was competing at the Seven Lakes Relays this weekend Samiyah Samuels was in Idaho competing against some of the nation's best indoors, at the Simplot Games. She had a heated match up with Agoura High School's Tara Davis. Davis was last year's World Youth Champion with a jump of 21-00.25. Davis just beat out Samuels for the win jumping an impressive 20'10.75" for U.S. #5 All-Time. When asked how far she thinks she can go Samuels response, "Oooo I can go 21, I can go 21. I'm trying to really go for the record and of course, I'm really trying to hit the Olympic trials this year and make the team in Rio." Samuels plans to go to New Balance Nationals Indoor before starting the outdoor season.
