Devlin 9th at NXN! Pennsbury 5th; Sargent 29th! Kent Hall 32nd! D-Town West 17th

Downigntown West junior Aislinn Devlin earned All-American honors at Saturday's Nike Cross Nationals from Portland, Oregon. Devlin, who won the NXN Northeast regional at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, New York last week, ran a 17:22 in the rain and mud at Glendoveer Gold Course to place ninth overall. That time is a 5K PR--2 seconds faster than her 17:24 she ran at Lehigh University at the District One Championships.

The Pennsbury girls took fifth in the team race at NXN. The Falcons scored 241 points. They sat in second place at the mile, fell back to sixth at the two mile, and closed strong to grab a top five spot. Olivia Sargent led the way for Lower Bucks XC. Sargent, the AAA state champ and NXN Northeast runner-up ran a time of 17:47. Not far behind was teammate Mary Webb. Webb, in just her first XC season placed 43rd in the race in a time of 18:04 (also a two second 5K PR). Also scoring for Pennsbury was Hannah Molloy (71st in 18:23), Meri Twomey (133rd in 19:13) and Bailey Balmer (143rd in 19:19). Rounding out the top seven was Maddie Sauer and Rachel Estey.

Unionville junior Anna Juul had a big race as well. The junior 45th in a time of 18:07.


Unionville's Kent Hall (in bib #228, photo by Travis Miller) was the top PA boy finisher at NXN.

On the boys' side at NXN, Unionville's Kent Hall, in just his first XC season, was the top PA finisher. Hall, a senior, ran a time of 15:40, which is his fastest 5K time, despite dealing with a sloppy course in Portland because of the rain and mud.

The Downingtown West boys placed 17th out of 22 teams at NXN. Josh Hoey was the team's top finisher, running a time of 16:01 for 72nd place. Senior Henry Sappey was 90th in 16:12.
