Small School Entries: Nike Southwest

With regular registration closing at the end of the day tomorrow, it's still a Colorado-heavy field for the small-school championship race of the Nike Southwest region.

Late registration takes the individual entries from $30 to $40 and team registrations go from $150 to $175.

As of noon today, the following small school programs have entered athletes (though some have not yet made payment--that needs to be made by the end of the day tomorrow or prices go up).

Albuquerque Academy - NM (Boys*)

Battle Mountain - CO (Boys/Girls*)

Heritage Christian Academy - CO (Boys/Girls)

Kent Denver - CO (Girls)

Mancos - CO (Boys)

Peak to Peak - CO (Girls)

Peyton - CO (Boys)

Roosevelt - CO (Boys/Girls)

The Classical Academy -CO (Boys/Girls)

University - CO (Boys/Girls)

Valor Christian - CO (Boys/Girls)

The following teams have initiated registration but not yet entered any athletes:

Alamosa* - CO

Cottonwood Classical Prep - NM

Holy Family - CO

Lake City - CO

Northland Prep - AZ

Robertson - NM

SkyView Academy - CO

Zuni - NM

Teams marked with an asterisk are teams with a high probability of getting a bid into the regional Championship race. In Alamosa's case, that would be the boys team, though they could easily bring a competitive girls team down as well.

There are still plenty of outstanding small school teams out there: Spring Creek, Tahoe-Truckee, Grantsville, North Summit, Taos, Laguna-Acoma, East Mountain, Page, Tuba City, Hopi, Ganado, Scottsdale Prep, Pecos, St. Pius X, Pojoaque Valley, Shiprock, Salida, Frontier Academy, and many more.

I will update this article Wednesday morning with a list of team entries received at that time.
