Westmoreland Invite Feature: Mueseler moves to PA#1 in the 300 meter hurdles!

Two weeks ago, Maddy Mueseler of Greater Latrobe set a stadium record in the 300 hurdles, winning a tightly contested race in the Greater Latrobe Wildcat and Hempfield Area Lady Spartan Invitationals. On Saturday, she was back on her home track and faster than ever.

The senior again was pitted against Ameriah Walters of Valley, and again Mueseler (left in black kit) walked away with the win in record time. It only took her 42.86 seconds to clear all eight hurdles, catapulting her from PA#5 to No. 1 in the state and No. 28 nationally.

“I went into the race just wanting to improve my time and to try to clean up my form going over each hurdle," Mueseler said. “I didn't get out as fast as I wanted, but after the first couple hurdles, I knew I had to step it up.

“After finishing the race and seeing my time, I was very shocked but also very excited! It was my fastest time ever. I am beginning to see all my hard work pay off this year! I'm excited to keep working hard and being pushed by my teammates every day at practice. I'm excited to see what happens the rest of the season!"

Walters is now PA#12 after her 45.35 in second. In the 200, Mueseler won in a PA#5 25.26 after clocking 25.31 in the prelims, while Walters was second in a PA#15 25.58.
