Another Piece to Brooks PR Puzzle: Jasmine Quinn (SC)

Another piece to the Brooks PR puzzle is Fort Dorchester hurdler Jasmine Quinn. Quinn is an eight time South Carolina state champion with victories in the 100 hurdles, 100, 200, and long jump in both 2013 and 2014. She will compete in the 100m hurdles and brings with her a personal best of 13.55 to the Brooks PR Invitational on Saturday, June 21st in Seattle.

When did you first learn that you were invited to the Brooks PR Invite and how did your react?

Quinn: Someone asked me about it then I was shocked I never received anything. Then it came in the mail and I became very excited.

What does it mean to you to be invited to the Brooks PR Invitational?

Quinn: It means a lot. I finally can meet great athletes that work as hard as I do. It's an honor.

What do you hope to achieve at the meet?

Quinn: I hope to set a new PR and win.

What music do you listen to before races?

Quinn: Anything that gets my adrenaline going. Lil Boosie, Speaker Knockerz, Gucci Mane, or sometimes I even listen to Gospel music.

If you were stranded on an island with three things what would they be?

Quinn: Food, a track including all equipment, and billions of dollars.

What would you consider as your best or most favorite race of all-time and why?

Quinn: The Taco Bell Classic 100 and 200 meter dashes and 100 meter hurdles. I ran against people who were great runners so it definitely helped me and motivated me to do better.

What are some things un-running related people might not know about you?

Quinn: I'm the only girl and I'm the youngest. I have brothers and one of them is in the NFL and very well known.

How and why did you get involved in the sport?

Quinn: My brother Miguel started running and my dad has been saying since I was a gymnast that I would be running track when I got older.

How has your training been leading up to the meet?

Quinn: It's been okay. I took two weeks off to heal my hamstring and prepare for graduation.

What are you most looking forward about your trip, race and weekend at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle?

Quinn: Going out and having fun. I want to win gold so I hope that comes out as planned. I'm looking forward to meet new people as well.
