Cinco Ranch Takes McNeil Invitational Title.

The place to be on October 4th was Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The meet brought together the some of the best teams in Texas from all classification. The Big race was in the Boys and Girls Gold Divisions.

The Boys Gold Division featured 10 top 10 teams from various classifications. In a mild upset #4 (5A) Cinco Ranch edged out #2(5A) Cedar Park. They were followed closely by #6 (5A) Coppell. Friendswood #2 (4A) and Elgin #2 (3A) had great team efforts as both teams beat top 10 5A school Georgetown. Friendswood placed 5th and Elgin 6th overall.

In the individual race Kyle Miller (15:13) and Scott MacPherson (15:18) made it a two man race. They pulled away from the group. Kyle Miller proved that he is the man to beat at the State meet as he cruised to a 5 second victory over previously unbeaten Scott MacPherson. There were 19 boys that dipped under the 16:00 5k.

The Girls girl race also featured 10 top 10 teams from various classifications. In a huge upset unranked The Woodlands won the meet. The list of teams they beat includes #2 Coppell (5A), #1 Highland Park (4A), and #4 Georgetown (5A).

The Gold Girls individual race was a family affair. Lyndsy and Erin Bedell went 1-2 for the 3200 course. Erin had a great race and dipped under the 11:00 mark. Lyndsy was the next to cross the finish line in an impressive 11:08. Freshman Natasha Klimas continues to have a great year. She was a solid third in 11:09.
