Holt wins Providence Invitational, Kulik Second in Girls Varsity

Mauldin senior Chad Holt captured the individual title at the Providence Invitational in Charlotte. Holt covered McAlpine Park course in 16:10.
Northwestern's Stuart McDaniel was second in 16:22 and fellow Northwestern senior Jonathan McGinnis was fourth in 16:56. The Northwestern boys captured the team title with 53 points to Providence's (N.C.) 90.
Mauldin boys placed fourth (96 points) in team standings.
In the varsity girls competition Mauldin scored a 29 to win the team title over Providence (N.C.). Northwestern girls placed fifth in team standings.
Mauldin junior Alyssa Kulik led the Mavericks with a top two finish in 19:05. Hannah Morgan finished third overall for Mauldin in 19:32. Alexa Neiling, a freshman at Mauldin, rounded out the top five with a 19:55.
WNC Carnival
Easley's Barker Places Fifth, Spring Valley's Niehaus Finishes Eighth
Easley junior Erin Barker finished fifth overall at the WNC Carnival in Hendersonville. Barker covered the course in 19:52.62. Spring Valley's Emily Niehaus was eighth in 20:02.30.
